The Network is what we make of it together! There are many ways in which you can get involved and help shape NGVT* NRW.

Several times a year, we invite trans people in North Rhine-Westphalia to our network meetings. During these weekend-events that take place in different locations throughout NRW, the participants can expect workshops, mutual exchange, and discussions on topics that we choose together. The board, the specialist office & the work groups will then continue to work on these topics and implement the participants’ wishes whenever possible.

In addition to these network events, NGVT* NRW also offers a variety of workshops and activities. The choice of topics is based, among others, on the requests that are made to the board and the specialist office during the network meetings. We also invite everyone to send us their ideas and requests (contact).

Current events will be announced on this website, on Facebook, and on Instagram. We also have a mailing list where we send information that can be of interest for trans people in NRW. If you want to be added, please send a message to info@ngvt.nrw.

Our work groups are a key element of our collaborative work across North Rhine-Westphalia. In them, engaged participants work together on issues that are a priority for trans people in NRW, both on a long-term basis and/or through specific events. These work groups are self-organised and may, if necessary, be supported by the board. When NGVT* NRW was founded, work groups were created addressing, among others, topics such as non-binary realities, intersectionality (multidimensional discrimination), as well as legal, medical & counselling issues. At the time, those groups are no longer active, but we are making efforts to resume their work. New participants are more than welcome. It is also possible to organise new work groups focusing on topics that have not been addressed yet. If you have any questions or requests, the board and the specialist office will be happy to provide advice and support.

The NGVT* NRW board also welcomes new members. Currently, two of the five board positions are empty. We are particularly looking for non-binary perspectives. The board members will be happy to provide information about the work they carry out. They can be contacted by email at vorstand@ngvt.nrw or using the contact information on this website.

Additionally, we intend to create an advisory committee that will support the board and the network with a variety of perspectives and expertise.
