Perspectives of trans* and non-binary people are often still underrepresented in the media. And when they are shown, it is often through the reproduction of prejudices and clichés. In addition, trans* and non-binary people are often talked about without allowing them to have their say. The two media projects “Not trans enough” and “Trans*Generation”, which were funded by the NGVT* and the Landeskoordination Trans* NRW respectively, are different. Trans* and non-binary people offer other trans* and non-binary people the space to tell their stories. In this way, their view of identity, self-designations and the diversity of gender is presented in a sensitized framework. When trans* and non-binary people make other trans* and non-binary people visible, it is very powerful and empowering.
